Wherever a man is, under any condition he may be, there are two things that can always save him. They are food and water. Though medical equipment can always save human lives, food and water can bring life into them. Always pack your survival kit with water cans and any canned food. In case you are thrown off to a far off place by an accident, these two can help you. In your survival kit, water that is enough for three days should be packed. Remember to pack only mineral water and any other tap water that you use at home. Commercially packed water is good for health and can last for longer durations. If the survival kit remains unopened, then it is better to change the water atleast once a year. Apart from water, food also can be stored in the survival kit. Usually food that is carried by trekkers and hikers and people in camps is safe and they know all the tricks to keep the food safe. They pack ready-to-meals, energy bars and other canned food. Though the ready-to-eat meals need warming up, you can do that in warm water. Heating up for a few seconds is sufficient. You can do that even in a bag. Chocolates, roasted biscuits or cookies, candy and bubble gums in your survival kit can provide sugar to the body and maintain constant metabolic rate.
